Once upon a time in the land of Disney, as all fairytales start out, there was a young princess. Her name was Snow White, and she was very beautiful. She had skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony. Sadly, her mother died shortly after giving birth to her and soon after that, Snow White’s father, the king, married a woman who, although beautiful, was very proud and possessed evil powers. She also possessed a magic mirror, to whom she would often ask "Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?" and to which the mirror would reply "You are.”

But, after Snow White’s father died of a mysterious illness, and the child turned fourteen (which is the official age that a girl becomes a maiden), the Queen became envious of her stepdaughter's budding beauty. One day, when the Queen asked her mirror the question, it responded with a strange answer. "Queen, you're the fairest where you are, but Snow White is more beautiful by far."

The Queen was jealous and ordered a huntsman to take Snow White deep into the woods to be killed. She demanded that the huntsman return with Snow White's heart as proof of the kill. The huntsman did as he was ordered and took Snow White into the forest, but he found himself unable to kill the girl. He let her go and brought the queen the heart of a wild boar instead.

When the Queen became aware of the huntsman’s trickery, she disguised herself as a peddler and went to the dwarfs' cottage where she had found out Snow White was hiding. The Queen made a powerful poisoned apple from her magic and offered it to Snow White. Snow White was hesitant to take the apple, so the Queen cut the apple in half, ate the white part — which had no poison — and gave the poisoned red part to Snow White. Snow White ate the apple eagerly and immediately fell into a deep, magical sleep. When the little men, who had stayed with Snow White, found her, they could not revive her. Thinking that she had died, they placed her in a glass coffin.

Time passed, and eventually, a prince traveling through the land saw Snow White in her coffin. The prince was enchanted by her beauty and instantly fell in love with her. He begged the little men to let him have the coffin. They eagerly agreed to the prince’s demands. The prince and his men carried the coffin away, but as they went, they stumbled. The coffin jerked and the piece of poisoned apple flew out of Snow White's mouth, awakening her. The prince then declared his love, and soon, a wedding was planned.

Who was fairest in the land now?

The vain Queen, still believing that Snow White was dead, went back to her castle and asked her mirror the question again. Yet, the mirror disappointed her by responding that "You, my queen, are fair; it is true. But the young queen is a thousand times fairer than you."

Not knowing that this new queen was indeed her stepdaughter, the Evil Queen arrived at the wedding of the Prince and his Bride, and her heart filled with the deepest of dread when she realized the truth.

As punishment for her wicked ways, a pair of heated iron shoes were brought forth with tongs and placed before the Queen. The Queen was then forced to step into the red-hot shoes and dance until she fell down and passed out.


But, that isn’t the whole story.

When the Evil Queen awoke, she found herself abandoned and went back to her castle. In a rage, she asked her mirror the same question.

"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?" This time, the mirror gave a new answer.

"Queen whose heart is black as night, Snow White isn’t the only fright. You once thought there would be no more than she, but dear Queen, there are several who are more fair than thee.”

Enraged, the queen asked who these several more were. She learned that they were called the ‘Disney Princesses,’ and Snow White, though now a queen in her own right, was to be considered one of them as well. Each princess had a heart of gold and wonderful looks to match their beautiful souls.

The queen vowed that she would one day again be the most beautiful woman in all the land. She took it out on the whole of the Disney kingdom. Stripped from her former glory by these princesses, the Queen ruled from her castle with an iron fist. She used her magic and spells to bind the servants of her castle to her for eternity. In her rage and quest for revenge against her new rival queen, Snow White, the queen’s magic became stronger than even a most powerful witch. It was like a plague, infecting everyone and everything around her. Trees uprooted on their own, and flowers began to die. Her land became desolate and, aside from the servants in her castle, almost completely uninhabited.

But, the Queen wouldn’t stop there. Since she no longer was the most beautiful woman in all the lands, she decided to make all the lands as ugly and barren as her own heart. The Queen gathered followers to help put her plan into action. These followers were perhaps the most loathsome and evil in all of the Disney Kingdom, and with the Queen as their leader, they became known as the ‘Disney Villains,’ a term which still strikes fear into the hearts of all who confront them.

Together, they set out on a mission given to them by the Queen herself. That mission was to either wreak havoc on the lives of all the Disney Princesses in all the Disney lands (or to kill them). In exchange for their service, the queen would grant them whatever they desired. Once all the Disney Princesses were out of the way, the Queen would be the most beautiful once again.

However, no villain is without its faults. A band of people known only as the ‘Disney Heroes’ rose to fight off the Queen’s evil and save the princesses. Together, the heroes now work to defeat the villains and the Evil Queen. Only when she and her followers are defeated will the lands return to normal and peace be restored throughout the Disney Kingdom.
